Upcoming Forward Exam Testing

Dear Parents/Guardians:

All Wisconsin students, in Grades 3-8, will be participating in the Forward Exam assessment during the months of April and May.  Fourth grade students will be tested in areas of ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies.  Fifth grade students will be tested in the areas of ELA and mathematics.  We have set up the following testing dates for our students at Eastview Elementary:

Fourth grade students:  April 20, 21, 22, 26, 28, 29, May 4, 5, 6 (testing approximately one hour each morning)
-
Fifth grade students:  April 28, 29, May 4, 6 (testing approximately one hour each morning)
-
Fourth grade virtual students:  April 26, 28, May 3, 5 (testing approximately two hours each morning in the LMC.  Virtual students will need to be transported to school by parents/guardians.  Students need to be dropped off at 8:45 AM and picked up at 11:00 AM

During the identified testing times, it is very important that your son or daughter attend school on these days. Students not in school on the scheduled testing days will be scheduled for a make-up test prior to the close of the testing window on May 14th.  In addition, during our testing window, please assure that students arrive to school on time.  If students arrive late to school, they will not be admitted into classrooms during a testing session.  Also, please note that each student needs a working pair of headphones for the Forward Exam test.  If your child does not have a set of headphones, please be sure to send a set to school prior to testing.

Attached to this email is an Informational Brochure for Families which gives more information about the assessment including its purpose, what scores will be provided, and how the scores will be used.  The Forward Exam assessment measures the knowledge and skills your child should have acquired by the time they reach each grade level. Their performance on the assessment will not affect any of their current grades. Please encourage your son or daughter to take the test seriously and do the best they can. The results of these tests will be used to help school staff make determinations to best support your child and his/her educational needs moving forward.

Thank you,
