Dear Eastview Parents/Guardians,
Over the last two weeks, our school has been participating in the One School, One Book project. As a school, we have all been reading the book Because of Winn Dixie with daily classroom discussions, trivia, and learning goals centered around the themes in the book. I hope that your child has been enjoying this experience and sharing things about the book with you at home.
In conjunction with our One School, One Book project, our students and school community are participating in a community service project that relates to both Because of Winn Dixie as well as our character focus for the month. This month, our character trait is focused on the skill of being a successful problem solver, and we would like to help solve a community need. As a result, we will be hosting a pet food/supply drive for Lakeland Animal Shelter from Monday, January 18th - Friday, January 29th.
Listed below are the current needed items at Lakeland Animal Shelter. Please note that donations are optional. We will also have items available, at school, for students to purchase with their Eagle Earnings if they would like to buy an item to add to our donation drive. If you would like to send in a donation item to school with your child, we will have a central donation location, where students can drop off items daily between January 18th - 29th.
